Hope (despite all the negatives that I encounter)

Sea of Life

You claw me with the ebb and flow of your tides.

You shake me like an earthquake shakes the foundations.

You fall on me like the great Niagara.

My heart will continue to be flooded with thanks

As I plod on in this land where nothing is easy.

A rainbow always emerges after the storm,

And faith is the pillar on which I stand.

Experience (thoughts as I heard a young couple arguing)

Look at them!

Fussing over simple issues,

Forgetting to suckle on the nectar of love

That created their bond.

Look at them!

Constipated by an abundance of insignificant things.

Oh, the impatience of youth juxtaposed

With a feeling of invincibility birthed

A reckless, brazen spirit.

Cherish the differences

That make you unique and

See conflict as a test in compromise.

Nurture your bond, and speak life

Into the portals of your marriage.

Work like a farmer preparing for harvest.

Tomorrow is not a promise, just a possibility.
